Clark County voters have rejected lightrail twice in recent years, but elected officials in many cities and the county keep pushing $2 Billion TriMet MAX Light Rail over the I-5 Bridge. Actual travel demand for public transit buses across the I-5 bridge is still low and has been since they started pushing lightrail back in 2005. Starting in Multnomah County, OR, light rail extended it's reach to Clackamas County. I wrote an op-ed to explain the history of the relentless push for voter-rejected lightrail in Clark County, and urge citizens to contact their city, county, state, and federal representatives to Oppose $2 Billion light rail on the I-5 Bridge. See "Cut Costs on I-5 Bridge Replacement Project" at ClarkCountyToday.com in the transportation section.
