Clark County Councilor Michelle Belkot files suit against Clark County, alleging civil rights violations, breaches to open meeting laws‍.

The lawsuit, filed in in Skamania County Superior Court, cites violations of the Civil Rights Act, Open Public Meetings Act, and Quo Warranto claims.

18th District lawmakers ensure vital funding for projects in Southwest Washington are included in proposed 2025-27 House capital budget‍

HB 1216 - 2025-26 - Concerning the capital budget.

This week, the Washington State House of Representatives unveiled its proposed 2025-27 capital budget, House Bill 1216. The $7.63 billion spending plan is focused on K-12 school construction, public infrastructure, behavioral health facilities, affordable housing, and economic development.

As part of the budget, Rep. Stephanie McClintock and Rep. John Ley worked to secure more than $5.6 million in funding for the 18th District.

Sporting Systems Vancouver Free HB-1143/I-1639 Firearms Safety Training Program‍

With passage of HB1143/i-1639, Washington residents are now REQUIRED to take a safety training class covering 8 specific topics before purchasing or transferring any firearm. This course is designed to address each of those 8 topics covered under the Revised Code of Washington (RCW9.41.090).
