Battle Ground City Council‍‍

Victoria Ferrer

https://voteferrer.com/

Our town needs leadership that will truly listen to “We the people.” We need to plan responsibly so not to overburden our roads, schools, and natural resources while ensuring affordable housing for our neighbors.

I will work with my fellow council members to achieve responsible financial spending, while ensuring citizens receive quality services that will not require additional taxes. We already have too many families struggling with high inflation rates.

I recognize the importance of keeping our small town values and a safe and friendly community for the next generation. I have witnessed what has happened as our small town atmosphere is slowly chipped away by big city policies, where small businesses and personal freedoms are choked out by high rising taxes and increasing government control.

I believe in defending the rights and freedoms of the people, protecting the unborn, supporting our law enforcement officers, producing an environment for local small business success, reducing government control and taxes, and operating our city in a moral and responsible way, as a steward of the funding and trust of the citizens.‍

As Battle Ground has grown in population, we have started to stray from the small-town values on which the city was built.

‍I want to see families excel here, with booming small businesses, safe and fruitful schools, and effective public safety. I want to support families by alleviating the burden of high taxes, while insisting on frugal government spending to ensure clean parks, viable roadways, and other important city services. I believe in holding elected officials accountable and I'll serve honorably, honestly, and with integrity. I will put family over politics, and people over political party, every single time.

La Center City Council‍

La Center is a very special city, but the city faces challenges. We need leaders that are fiscally responsible and creative so that we attract businesses and Police security to our lovely city. Working closely with the other councilors I will help to bring business to La Center which will fund infrastructure and other desirables such as walking paths and parks. Furthermore, my connection with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office provides me a unique avenue to ensure we have ongoing security and safety. My goal is to listen and respond to the concerned citizens of La Center.

Evergreen School Board‍

‍As parents of Evergreen students we've watched their quality of education plummet for 6 years under this school board. Per OSPI: only 25% of Evergreen students are meeting Math Standards, English 38% and Science 35% (averaging 33% overall compared to next door Camas averaging 70%). Evergreen has the worst academic scores of the 9 Clark County School Districts.

When elected, I pledge to use my accounting skills focusing on cost savings on administrative staff not classroom teachers. I'll advocate for more transparency and parental input with proposed budgets and bell schedule changes.
