Rep. John Ley visits empty Brockmann mental health facility, calls for state to fund its operation Representative John Ley, highlights his visit to the Brockmann Campus, a newly constructed mental health facility that remains empty despite a $42 million investment. The state legislature decided not to fund the facility's operations, attributing it to a supposed saving of $74.4 million in operating costs. Representative Ley questions this decision given the significant increases in the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) budget and the state's overall General Fund. Ley intends to collaborate with fellow legislators to secure operational funding for the facility, preventing the initial investment from being wasted. Read the Press Release here.

First, the Voter ID initiative IL26-126 has received final court clearance, and signature petitions are now circulating. The goal is to require proof of citizenship when registering to vote, aiming to increase election security and public trust. Media outlets have been misrepresenting the initiative.
Second, highlights the importance of upcoming special legislative elections, particularly in the 5th and 26th districts, where primary ballots are now being mailed. Voters in those districts are urged to participate and support Republican candidates Michelle Collier (26th) and Chad Magendanz (5th).
