Having been a professional firefighter on staff, and then being invited back into the company that was built by his father and his father's father, being around the corporate structure of the State of Washington, developing chattels, and farmer's markets, there have been thousands of people and children served. Association with King County Health Board, a number of city councils developing farmer's markets; and local, state, and national fire departments; as well as being Chairman of the Board, and Chief Financial Officer of a company as registered with the Secretary of State, has been a lifelong training ground for serving the citizens of the State of Washington in its highest office. He has recently resigned to run for the governor in the State of Washington. He is married to Celia A. Wheeler.

I will use my 13+ years of high-tech work and in-depth management experience, strong family values, and solid judgment to tackle issues that many Washingtonians face daily. I am an immigrant who has lived through Soviet socialism and witnessed religious oppression and antisemitism, and I clearly see that our current path is a dangerous one. While socialism makes fake promises of equal outcomes, we must instead ensure equal opportunities. I came here because my parents believed this country to be an ideal place to achieve their dreams and make sure their kids could achieve theirs. A country where laws are followed, bureaucracy is nonexistent, people are safe and prosperous. I came here to live the American dream – a dream that is now unreachable to many Americans.

Rich grew up in the great Pacific Northwest, just north of Spokane. He attended the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated as a Distinguished Graduate earning a BS in Aeronautical Engineering with Mathematics minor. He earned a graduate degree at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston (SM Aeronautics & Astronautics). Rich served a total of 15 years in the military, beginning with the Academy, transitioning to B-1 pilot, then Academy professor, and operations planner. I am not just running a campaign for governor, I am leading a community effort to win the office for the first time in 35 years. I want to run a campaign that is "Of the people, by the people…" to provide a new vision for the people of Washington State. What if, we, as Washingtonians, could develop a unity not seen by the rest of the country; what if we could lead an effort of reconciliation? By casting our votes this November, what if we could choose our next struggles and become a single community battling these issues?

Joshua was elected to the Bothell City Council in 2005 and, later, was chosen by his colleagues to lead the city as mayor where he oversaw the greatest revitalization of a downtown in Washington history with a remarkable $450 million in private investment. He also served on the King County Mental Health Advisory Board to ensure county government gave our neighbors, who are struggling, the critical resources that they need. When King County announced plans to further imperil those with drug addiction by building heroin injection sites, Joshua stood up for our most vulnerable and persuaded local officials in nearly 20 cities and counties to ban these dangerous sites in their communities and, instead, focus precious public resources on helping people break the cycle of addiction.

I currently serve as the 31st District State Senator. I was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and appointed to the Senate before being sworn into the House. I won re-election to a 4-year term that expires in 2021. I previously served as the 47th District State Representative from 1998 to 2000. I'm focused on a number of policy issues, serving on the Transportation Committee, Housing Committee, and Environmental Committee in the state Senate.

In 1995, I got started with an initiative to force a public vote on the first sports stadium (I got a "whopping" 100 signatures at Greenlake Park, a few blocks from my previous Seattle home) – initiative qualified and voters said "no" to the sports stadium, but the Legislature said "yes, this sports stadium is a state emergency." That single, arrogant legislative act was the catalyst that inspired my political activism. I have been fighting for taxpayers ever since.
