Lawsuit associated with Michelle Belkot‍ has been moved to federal court.

“I knew since it was a civil rights violation (case) it had the potential to go to federal court,” Belkot said Monday afternoon. “Now that it’s taken place, it’s going to take longer for my case to be addressed.” Read More.

Clark County Council Meeting‍ 5/21/2025 1pm‍

County council members will be discussing the use of fireworks, and will very likely move to vote for a total ban on fireworks county wide.

PLEASE DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN – WE NEED YOU!

This Ban on Fireworks will also take funds away from all the local nonprofit organizations that use firework sales as fundraisers for local programs.

WAGOP Lawsuit Disputing 2024 LD 18 State Senate General Election Ruling‍

On May 8, 2025, Judge Camara Banfield ruled in favor of the Defense's Motion for Summary Judgment in the case: Matthew Frohlich and Washington State Republican Party Plaintiffs, V Clark County and Greg Kimsey, in his official Capacity as the Clark County Auditor, Defendants (#24-2-04196-06).

This sets a terrible and very dangerous precedent that county auditors are under no legal obligation to remove voters from the voter rolls who have previously reported a change of residence - or for auditors to even update their voter registrations before an election. Read more.


Should Clark County Pay?

Last year, TriMet lost $850 million with a budget of $1.84 billion. Its ridership was down 40 percent and passenger revenues were down 50 percent due to the “slow return to in-person office work.”  Yet they added two new divisions including an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA).

The agency has had operating losses over $6 billion in the past decade. TriMet received $669.4 million in one-time funds over three years as pandemic relief.‍
