Last year the Camas City Council decided to create a Utility Tax. Many members of the CCRP jumped into action and started a referendum to halt the tax until it could go to a vote of the people.

They were able to gather the required signatures but then the city refused to count them claiming a technical issue. It went to court and today the people prevailed. The signatures are being authenticated by the county elections staff and if at least 2,730 are valid Camas voters, it will go to a vote of the people.
